Lisa Dusenberry was born in Kansas City, but has
lived most of her life in Springfield, MO. She studied art at
MO State University. She spent 25 years working exclusively in
colored pencil until a few years ago when she rediscovered her true
love - clay!
All of Lisa's work is hand built and highly
detailed. Her "studio" is the kitchen table. She rolls
out slabs with the rolling pin and shapes them into new and unique
forms. Using cone 6 Red and Raku clay from L&R Specialties,
she strives to make every creation one-of-a-kind.
Lisa is fascinated with the symbolism of various
Earth cultures, characters from Greek & Celtic Mythology, and things
of nature such as trees and leaves. Lisa always spends the
first Sunday in November at L&R's annual Raku Day festival.
The rest of the year she spends playing in the mud.
